The Global RLI Awards judging team is a group of leading industry experts who will review eligible submissions and score them confidentially and inform the RLI Awards team. The panel will not review entries from their own companies or any entry that might constitute a conflict of interest.
Paul Ghermezian

Paul Ghermezian is a prominent figure in the retail and leisure industry, currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer of American Dream, a revolutionary retail and entertainment complex. Growing up in Edmonton, Canada, Paul later pursued his university education in New York. He began his professional career as an analyst in investment banking before joining the family business, Triple Five Group, founded by his father and three uncles.
Since joining Triple Five, Paul has been actively involved in all aspects of the business, with a primary focus on their flagship retail entertainment centres: West Edmonton Mall and Mall of America. His dedication and vision culminated in the development and now successful operations of American Dream, an innovative destination that seamlessly integrates retail, entertainment and attractions.
In addition to his role at American Dream, Paul advises and sits on the board of various companies across different industries, leveraging his extensive experience and insights to drive growth and innovation.
Paul Ghermezian is honoured to serve as a judge for the upcoming Global RLI Awards, where he looks forward to recognising and celebrating groundbreaking achievements in the retail and leisure sectors.

Toby Harris is the CEO of State of Play Hospitality a leading international social entertainment operator. In 2018 Toby led a buy-out of Bounce, then a three unit leisure concept, to create State of Play which, over the last 7 years, has become a multi brand platform with three concepts and 11 venues across the US and UK.
State of Play owns the license for Flight Club in North America and is rolling out the social darts concept nationally, with 6 venues opened to date and many more in the pipeline. State of Play also created and operates Hijingo, a highly immersive bingo concept, as well as Bounce and AceBounce the sister ping pong brands. All of State of Play’s concepts offer modern, tech enabled versions of classic, much loved games which are coupled with design led environments and elevated food and beverage programs. Ultimately providing every guest with a premium hospitality experience is at the core of State of Play’s philosophy.

Tim Jones joined Venetian Macau Limited in May 2012 and as Senior Vice President of Retail, he is responsible for managing the retail development and management strategy of Sands Resorts Macao, which features 2.2 million square feet of opulent retail space at Sands Shoppes Macao, which comprises: Shoppes at Four Seasons, Shoppes at Venetian, and Shoppes at Londoner, as well as Shoppes at Parisian.
Under Mr. Jones’s leadership, Sands Shoppes Macao has garnered recognition within the retail industry. Shoppes at Londoner was honoured with the “Retail Development of the Year – Macau at the Real Estate Asia Awards 2024” and the “Most Innovative Retail and Tourism Destination 2022” from the Global RLI Awards, prestigious accolades celebrating excellence in the retail and tourism sectors. Additionally, the Global RLI Awards has acknowledged Shoppes at Parisian with the “International Shopping Centre award 2017” and Shoppes at Four Seasons for “Best Shopping Centre Renovation 2014”. Furthermore, in 2023, Shoppes at Venetian received the “Best overall Retail Offering by an Integrated Resort” from the IAG Academy IR Awards.

Since 1995, Anthony Khoi has been the Founder and President of Cenor Group, a major commercial real estate group active in the investment, development, asset and property management of retail and commercial properties in Europe and Turkey.
During 2003 to 2023, Anthony Khoi was managing partner of Aerium, part of the Investment committee, Board Member, the head of retail properties investment, head of the development management, President of Aerium Turkey and during 2016 to 2019, he was also the President of Aerium France.
Since 2006, Anthony Khoi has been also the President of Cefic Turkey. Established in 1985 in France and 1994 in Turkey, Cefic is a leading shopping centres and commercial property management and leasing company with an impressive track record and success story. Cefic was owned and managed jointly in Turkey by Cenor in partnership with Simon Property, Ivenhoé Cambridge investment group and Unibail.
Anthony KHOI is the Co-Founder and Board Member of the Turkish Council of Shopping Centers (AYD) and he served as member ICSC’s European Advisory Board and Investment Committees.

Annette Lund is the CEO of Promenaden Management, a leading company in Oslo specialising in luxury retail, commercial real estate and premium office spaces. Since becoming CEO in 2019 and having been with the company since 2012, Annette took leadership in transforming Promenaden into Oslo's premier luxury retail district. The portfolio includes prestigious brands such as Dior, Chanel, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Bottega Veneta, as well as the historic Steen & Strøm department store.
Annette holds a Master of Laws from the University of Oslo and has significantly contributed to Promenaden's strategic vision, driving growth and innovation and positioning Oslo as a leading luxury shopping destination in Scandinavia. Annette is honoured to serve on the judging panel for the Global RLI Awards 2024, reflecting her commitment to excellence in retail management.

Jason Maurer is an Executive Vice President for National Urban Retail at Brookfield Properties and is responsible for overseeing the company’s retail investment and leasing platform across Brookfield’s high street retail in key gateway cities in North America, with a concentration in New York, Toronto, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Denver and Washington DC.
Prior to joining Brookfield Properties in 2018, Jason led GGP’s national urban retail portfolio and spent twelve years in a variety of leadership positions in retail brokerage for Newmark Knight Frank Retail and Ripco Real Estate Corp. after receiving a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan.

Having joined RLI in 2013, James has been involved in the Global RLI Awards for the last eleven years in various roles and has been a judge on many occasions since beginning his role as Editor of the RLI magazine. In 2024 the Global RLI Awards returns to London and will continue to strive for excellence and highlight key global projects. James is delighted to be a judge once again as we build up to the nineteenth edition of the Global RLI Awards, merging the power of face-to-face connections in a unique location that possesses an abundance of opportunities to be explored.
